What do you see?

Do you like what you see?

This painting was painted by a painter who wasn’t even at the same levelwith the other famous abstract painters like Jackson Pollock or Kandinsky, but if you at his work, you would still be amazed.  Thaneeya’s painting is a combination of different lines. shapes and colors that could immediately attract the eye of anyone who sees it. I belive that the painter did this not to show or express her feelings, rather to impress the people. It was something the eyes could feast on, and then let the self be conquered by the feeling of great happiness and excitement about life. It’s like “Kadayawan” on a canvass. No negative thoughts, mournings or loneliness, just the greatness of joy.

Paintings, like this one, still is worth the appreciation and admiration for what effects it has for the feelings and emotions of people, no matter who the painter is. “The painting is what’s important”, for me. If art is a form of entertainment for some, then this is a perfect example. Though it is not a representation of a reality, it still entertains. It entertained me.
